Richard “Dick” Dean Cozad, 56, of Fruitland, died Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at the Muscatine Care Center. Graveside services will be held Friday, July 13, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. at the Island Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Casey Hahn, Raymond Cozad, Jack Cozad, Albert Stecher, Rick Kropf, and Randy Browning. Honorary Casketbearers will be Cheyenne Hannah, Thomas Moeller and John Kramer. Pastor Sharon Phillips of Jesus Mission Church will officiate. There will be no visitation. Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the home of his brother, Scott and Gwen Cozad in Fruitland. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established at the funeral home in Dick’s name. Sympathy notes may be left for the Cozad family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services are handling the arrangements.

Dick Cozad was born on March 24, 1951 in Muscatine, the son of Raymond and Margaret (Ellis) Cozad. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.

Dick will be deeply missed by his daughter, Laura Schroeder of Muscatine; two brothers, Donald Cozad and Scott Cozad and his wife, Gwen, all of Muscatine; and two sisters, Wanda Shoultz and her husband, Donald, and Gerri Stecher and her husband, Albert, all of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Billy Joe Cozad and two sisters, Barbara Ann Lewis and Mary Lou Hinden.
