Denny Harmon Obituary

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Denny Harmon, 74, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024, at his home. 

A private military burial will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery. The Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com.  

Denny was born on July 5, 1950, in Muscatine, the son of George Elmer and Dorothy June Oldham Harmon Jr. He met the love of his life, Julie Brugger, and they shared over 22 wonderful years of life together. 

Denny was a 1969 graduate of Muscatine High School. He was a Veteran of the US Navy. He was a man of many trades but mostly was a truck driver and construction worker. He was an avid college basketball and Chicago Cubs fan. 

Denny loved fishing, archery, and video games. You could always find him with a Diet Mountain Dew, which he loved. 

Denny will be deeply missed by his fiancé, Julie; his 5 children; grandchildren; sister, Janice Harmon Lane and her husband, Jim; and nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, David Harmon.
