Jerry always had a grin and a giggle and was ready and willing to help people out. He remembered me from high school when we "met" in 1983 and discovered that we were neighbours. I had backed my convertible into a culvert on the corner of Pond & New Hampshire and he brought over jacks to get the wheel out before nightfall. I had moved into one of my dad's rental properties and Jerry owned the duplex across the street, so we shared the experiences - renovations, tools, and messiness - of being landlords. He taught me to shoot a variety of firearms on a sunny Saturday afternoon in October, consuming several boxes of ammo. I hope he would have been proud of what he started with me going on to shooting skeet and blackpowder. Jerry and Brenda married 2 months before Michael and I married, and their daughter is 6 months older than our son. I have lots of photos of toddler kissy-face, pool-splashing, and itty bitty bike riding round and round in their big driveway & triple garage which, of course, Jerry built. He waged a valiant battle for his life. We attended his funeral in the morning and my cousin's wedding in the afternoon. My, my, how things work out in life.
