- MUSCATINE, Iowa - Alvin D. Schreurs, 65, of Muscatine, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017, at home.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017, at the American Legion Post #27, 110 S Houser Street. Alvin was born on May 1, 1951, in Muscatine, the son of Charles Ronald and Donna Bishop Schreurs. He married Kathy Dreyer and they later divorced.
He had worked at Heinz and most recently at Wal-Mart. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #388. He enjoyed collecting hot wheel cars, lighters, and juke boxes.
Those left to honor his memory include two sons, Chad Schreurs and wife, Jennifer, of Muscatine, and Jeremy Schreurs and wife, Crystal, of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren, Hunter, Skyler, Kyden, Nicholas, Reilly, Lincoln, Jackson, and Kenady; three brothers, Craig Schreurs of Muscatine, and Keith Schreurs and Larry Schreurs, both of Fruitland; two sisters, Kearce Schreurs-Peters of Joplin, Missouri, and Kelly Schreurs-Reisen of Muscatine; and a special friend, Sharon Murphy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
