NICHOLS, Iowa—Beverly Smith, 63, of Nichols, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.

A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Beverly.

Beverly Irene Skidmore was born on April 23, 1951, in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Basil and Charlene (Steer) Skidmore. Beverly was a 1969 graduate of Muscatine High School. On March 3, 1972, Beverly was united in marriage to Chester Smith in Muscatine. She worked for Thatcher’s Plastics and later a cook at ACT in Iowa City. Beverly was a member of the Christian Church in Nichols and enjoyed reading, fishing, cooking and baking, but most of all, she loved to spend time with her family and close friends.

Beverly will be deeply missed by her husband, Chester of Nichols; her sons, Chester Smith, Jr. of Nichols and Lee Smith of Nichols; one brother, Sam (Mickey) Skidmore of Muscatine and one sister, Cynthia Schmitt of West Liberty.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Rodney Skidmore and one sister in infancy
