 TRUDY STOKES

MUSCATINE, Iowa ? Trudy Stokes, 55, of Muscatine, died Saturday, December 9, 2006, at Unity Hospital following a long courageous battle with cancer.

Memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2006, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Burial will at a later date. 

Visitation will be from 12 ? 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the family in care of Aimee Stokes.    

Trudy was born on May 6, 1951, in Holly Grove, Arkansas, the daughter of Clyde and Peggy Rogers Stokes. 

She drove a school bus for 30 years for the Muscatine School System.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She enjoyed gardening and loved to play spoons and sing karaoke with her friends. 

Survivors include a daughter, Aimee Stokes and significant other Mike Whitmire, of Muscatine; one granddaughter Emma Grace Whitmire; her parents Clyde and Peggy Stokes of Muscatine; two brothers Larry Stokes of Muscatine, and Jerry Stokes of Muscatine; and one sister Barb Schroeder of Muscatine.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, and one sister-in-law Mary Stokes.
